Is Working with a Designer the Right Next Step for You?

If you’re considering a kitchen or bath project, you may be wondering what a designer actually does, and whether hiring one will truly make the experience easier.

At Spóca Kitchen and Bath, we believe remodeling should feel clear, organized, and confidence-building. Our job isn’t just to make things look good. It’s to help you make smart decisions, avoid costly missteps, and end up with a home that supports how you really live.

So… is working with a designer the right next step for you? Let’s help you answer that.

What it’s like to work with Spóca

Spóca Kitchen and Bath was built around the core belief that people make better decisions when they are informed, supported, and heard.

That belief shapes how we design—and how we work with you.

We’re not here to “push our style” or hand you a pretty plan and disappear. Our approach is best described as done-with-you, not done for you:

  • We guide you step-by-step so you always know what’s next
  • We educate as we go so your decisions feel grounded, not rushed
  • We stay organized and communicative so the process feels manageable
  • We focus on lasting value so your home works beautifully for everyday life now and in the future.

If you want a partner who brings both expertise and structure—and keeps you actively involved without overwhelming you—you’ll feel at home here.

Quick self-check: are we a good fit to work together?

The clients who get the most value from working with us usually have a few things in common.

You’ll love working with us if you…

  • Want an expert to help you think through options, not just “pick finishes”
  • Prefer a clear plan instead of figuring things out as you go
  • Care about function as much as style—your home has to work
  • Value quality and want to invest wisely (without chasing trends)
  • Appreciate a collaborative process with clear communication and expectations

What we help you do

Spóca Kitchen and Bath specializes in kitchen and bath projects—from small-but-meaningful upgrades to full transformations. Most projects fall into one of these categories:

  • Refresh: keep what works, update what doesn’t
  • Replace: new surfaces and fixtures, same footprint
  • Reconfigure: improve layout and function
  • Remodel: a full transformation

No matter the scope, our goal is the same: help you make confident, well-informed decisions—so your space works beautifully for your unique lifestyle.

How our process works

Remodeling gets stressful when the steps are vague. We’ve built a process that reduces surprises by making decisions before construction begins.

Here’s the simplified version:

Step 1: Discovery

Your initial Inquiry begins the process of determining if we are a good fit for your project.  A Discovery Call (or Meeting) helps us  to understand your space, goals, and lifestyle. You’ll tell us what’s working, what’s not, and what you hope your kitchen or bath can do for you and we’ll help you determine your best next step.

Step 2: Planning and Design

Visiting your home (or reviewing your architectural plans) is necessary to nail down all the details required to develop a functional layout tailored to your space and habits—backed by 2D plans, 3D renderings, and expert recommendations.

Step 3: Product Selection

We guide you through curated material choices—cabinetry, countertops, tile, fixtures, and more—ensuring every selection supports the overall design.

Step 4: Implementation

With a complete design plan in place, implementation looks different depending on the service you select:

Design Services: You receive a complete design package—drawings, specs, and selections—to hand off to your contractor and move into construction with clarity.

Full-Service Design: We remain actively involved through installation with scheduled check-ins and coordination support to help keep details aligned with the design intent.

Step 5: Completion and Celebration

Conducting a Project Close Out ensures  all design elements are complete and functioning as planned. You’ll receive care tips, warranty details, and helpful advice to enjoy your space for years to come.

Ready to take the next step?

Remodeling doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. The biggest difference between a stressful project and a smooth one usually comes down to clarity—knowing what you want, understanding the tradeoffs, and making decisions in the right order.
