At Spóca Kitchen and Bath, we specialize in more than just beautiful spaces—we help you create a home that functions effortlessly, reflects your lifestyle, and brings you joy every single day. Whether you’re remodeling a well-loved kitchen, reimagining a primary bath, or planning a fresh start in a new home, our personalized “side-by-side” process ensures that every decision is informed, thoughtful, and aligned with what matters most to you. You’ll never be left guessing—because from your first inquiry to the final walkthrough, we’re with you at every turn.
Spóca is the Irish word for spokes, as in bicycle spokes —a nod to the owner’s family heritage.
If we had to draw a picture of how we work, it would look like a bicycle wheel. In the center is the hub – that’s where we begin with every client. Consider it your home base. From there, we venture out together along each individual spoke, one at a time, to gather information and make the decisions that lead to the creation of rooms that are just right for you. When we’ve completed all the “spokes”, your project is ready to roll – with clarity, confidence and peace of mind.
Whether you’re renovating to welcome more family, add comfort, or finally resolve those daily frustrations, we begin every project with one essential question: What matters most to you? We don’t follow trends. We don’t dictate. We co-create timeless, practical spaces that reflect how you want to live—now and in the years to come.
At Spóca Kitchen and Bath we believe that great design is never one-size-fits-all—it starts with listening. Our work is centered on guiding homeowners, many who are retired or nearly retired, through the remodeling process with thoughtful planning, clear communication, and expert support. We’re here to help you make confident, informed choices that reflect how you truly want to live.
Our goal is simple: to make home feel right—for today, and for the future. That means creating kitchens and baths that not only look beautiful, but work beautifully too. Spaces that welcome your family and friends, simplify your routines, and make you happy every time you walk in the door.
As the founder and principal designer of Spóca Kitchen and Bath, Lena leads the vision, strategy, and creative direction behind every project. For nearly two decades, she has partnered with discerning homeowners to design kitchens and bathrooms that are as refined in function as they are in form — spaces thoughtfully tailored to the way her clients truly live.
A Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS), Lena seamlessly integrates future-ready solutions into sophisticated design, ensuring homes evolve gracefully without sacrificing beauty. Her work is grounded in thoughtful planning, architectural awareness, and a deep understanding of construction realities — allowing every decision to be both elevated and executable.
Recognized as an Innovator of the Year by Kitchen & Bath Design News for her forward-thinking contributions to the industry, Lena remains deeply engaged in professional leadership. She is an active member of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), past Chapter Officer and currently serving on the Programs Committee for the NKBA Central New York Chapter, and maintains affiliations with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the New York State Builders Association (NYSBA), the Home Builders and Remodelers of Central New York (HBR of CNY), and the Interior Design Society (IDS).
Clients value Lena for her calm, strategic guidance. Rather than imposing preferences, she presents well-considered options — complete with insight into investment levels, performance, and long-term value — empowering homeowners to make confident, informed decisions. She sets the tone for a seamless, highly curated design experience, resulting in spaces that feel as exceptional as they function.
As an integral part of our design team, Michele brings clarity and intention to the earliest stages of every project. She leads our pre-design organizing and storage assessments, ensuring that each space we create is not only beautiful, but thoughtfully aligned with how our clients truly live — today and in the years ahead.
With a professional background in engineering and project management, Michele approaches space planning with both analytical precision and creative insight. She supports conceptual design for kitchens, pantries, mudrooms, laundry rooms, and workspaces, helping translate real-life storage needs into functional, refined design solutions that serve both form and flow.
Michele holds a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Clarkson University and a Certificate of Interior Design from Syracuse University. As a Professional Organizer, she understands that exceptional design begins with understanding how a home works behind the scenes.
She is the strategic mind ensuring that what’s hidden behind cabinetry and doors performs just as beautifully as what’s visible. Whether mapping out storage zones or refining layouts, she brings structure, foresight, and a touch of thoughtful whimsy to every project she supports.
As the organizational backbone of our team, Sarah brings a powerful combination of structure, responsiveness, and thoughtful execution to everything we do. She ensures that projects move smoothly, communication stays clear, and every client experience reflects our standards of professionalism and care.
Originally from North Carolina and now rooted in New York with her husband and two daughters, she understands the importance of balance, efficiency, and creating environments where people can thrive — values she brings into our daily operations.
Her background in the culinary arts shaped her ability to manage details under pressure, anticipate needs before they arise, and execute with precision. Today, she channels those strengths into high-level administrative coordination — overseeing workflows, supporting project management, streamlining processes, and keeping our team aligned and on schedule.
She is the steady force behind the scenes who makes the visible work possible. From managing timelines and documentation to ensuring nothing falls through the cracks, she plays a critical role in maintaining the elevated client experience we’re known for. Above all, she believes great administration isn’t just about completing tasks — it’s about supporting a team with excellence so everyone can perform at their highest level.
If you’re a homeowner—retired or nearing retirement—who values thoughtful choices, timeless design, and a home that truly works for the way you live, you’re in the right place.
Our clients are often couples who’ve built a good life and a home they care about. They’ve raised families, hosted holidays, and now they’re ready to make their space even better—more welcoming, more functional, more aligned with what matters to them. They want a kitchen that can handle a holiday dinner with grandkids underfoot. A bathroom that feels like a retreat, but is designed for daily life.
They’re not chasing trends or labels. They care about quality, function, and lasting value. And while they’re deeply involved in their project, they don’t want to figure it all out on their own.
